# Badgeify > Badgeify is a consumer macOS menu bar utility (a native desktop app, not a web service or developer API) that mirrors any application's notification badge into the menu bar. It is designed for end users who hide the Dock or want a single, glanceable surface for unread counts. It runs locally on macOS 11 Big Sur or later, on both Intel and Apple Silicon hardware. It is developed by Yuexun Jiang / Techflow Studio Limited. Badgeify enhances the macOS menu bar by displaying real-time notification counts for virtually any application that shows notifications in the Dock. Users can customize icons using default styles, recommended icons, or their own custom SVG files, which intelligently adapt to macOS light and dark modes. The App Groups feature allows organizing related apps under a single menu bar icon, showing aggregated notification counts. Icons can be configured to hide or become transparent when apps have no notifications or are not running, and important icons can be pinned.
